The Project Kit by Afterwork One
A printable workbook to help you choose one personal project, break it into small actions, and pick up where you left off after work.
22-page printable PDF $17 one-time No subscription
Digital download. Nothing is shipped: you print the pages you need.
Sound familiar?
A portfolio page, a family cookbook, a tidy tool shelf. They all sound worth doing, so it's hard to know which one to start.
Sort your ideas, page 4
“Redo the website” doesn't fit in the 30 minutes between dinner and winding down. Nothing about it says where to begin.
Action List, page 8
A few days pass, and the start of the next session goes to working out where you were and what came next.
Session Sheet or Session Log, pages 12 and 17
How it works
Pick one project and decide what “done” looks like.
Cut it down to a first version and a list of small actions.
Do one action in a 15-, 30-, or 45-minute session.
Write where you stopped and the exact next action.
Next session, you start by reading it.
Session lengths of 15, 30, or 45 minutes are planning options. They don't predict how many sessions a project will take.
The method on one project
Fictional example Dana is not a real customer. Her pages show the method, not a result.
Starting idea
Redo my whole portfolio site.
First version
One case-study page.
Tonight's session
Write the “My role” section.
Next action
Add the before-and-after screenshots.
Summarized from Dana's pages in the kit. View her real Session Sheet (page 13)
What's inside
Also inside: a Week Plan, Parking Lot, Look Back, two quick-reference pages, short guides for each step, and four filled-in example pages from two fictional projects.

Session Log Page 17 · quick option
Session Sheet page 12
For more detail. Plan the session at the top, write your bookmark at the bottom. One sheet per session.
Session Log page 17
The quick option. One line per session: what changed, where the work is, and the next action. Good for 15-minute sessions and busy weeks.
Use one or the other. You don't need both for the same session.
How to start
You don't need to fill in the whole workbook first. Three steps are enough.
The Project Card (page 5) helps you define it and what “done” means.
On the Action List (page 8), each small enough for one session.
15, 30, or 45 minutes, recorded on a Session Sheet or a Session Log. Your first work session can be next time.
